After reading and analyzing the required readings (Chavez & Will), write a formal argumentative academic essay supporting your opinion on Birthright Citizenship.
The introductory paragraphshould provide common knowledgebackground and context to the debate about the topic and should end with a clearly stated argumentative thesis.
Each body paragraph(3 total) should include the following elements.
- Explicitly stated topic sentence
- Evidence/support: quote, paraphrase, or summary from at least one, preferably two, of the required readings
- Analysis/discussion: your interpretation of the evidence in order to support your thesis
The conclusionshould frame your essay by recalling the importance of the debate as introduced in the introductory paragraph and bring the topic full circle for current relevance.
